Psychotherapy Services
Psychotherapy sessions last 50 minutes.
I offer a free 30-minute phone consultation, to determine your needs, to see if we are a good match, and to confirm that your needs fit within my scope of practice.

Fees
I accept payment by cash or check, and payment is due at the time of service. Please call (510) 459-1302 to discuss the current fees.
A sliding scale is available to those who demonstrate a financial need. There are a limited number of sliding scale spaces available. Session fees are negotiable for two or more sessions per week.
I do not accept insurance. I am "out of network" for all insurance providers. You may apply for reimbursement from your insurance company (if available, depending on your benefit plan). Upon request, I will provide you with a detailed monthly statement which you can use to seek reimbursement from your insurance company. You are responsible for full payment for any services rendered. It is important that you find out exactly which mental health services your insurance policy covers, if you would like to seek reimbursement from your insurance company.
Most clients have found that paying directly for therapy best suits their needs. First, your confidentiality is assured. Only you and I will have access to your records, not your insurance company. Confidentiality is the cornerstone of good therapy and professional practice. You need to be able to trust that your personal information is never disclosed without your consent (unless an exception to confidentiality is broken). Your confidentiality can be limited when you elect to use your insurance to seek reimbursement for psychological services. Additionally, there are no restrictions on how you find the right psychologist or what services you decide to use. The plan of care and payment of services are discussed and set by mutual agreement between you and I, without any third party involvement.
