![]() About Dr. Gabriel Mission Statement I am a licensed clinical psychologist with a private practice in Palo Alto, CA. I specialize in treating children, adolescents, and adults. I work with a wide range of emotional and interpersonal difficulties. When working with children and adolescents, I work collaboratively with parents to help them better understand the specific needs and abilities of their child. With over 10 years of experience, one of my primary areas of specialization is in providing assessment and treatment for children and adolescents who have autism and/or Asperger's syndrome. I also conduct psychological testing for children, adolescents, and adults. Education and Training I received my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology in Alameda, CA. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from UC Berkeley. My training and experience includes working with various populations, particularly community mental health and school-based counseling. I have training and experience in individual, group, family and couples counseling. I have served as the Coordinator of the Parents Place Center for Special Needs in Palo Alto, CA where I launched and implemented a new program to address the needs of children and families with special needs, including providing psychotherapy and assessment, program development including training of staff and teachers of child development, child psychology, and autism. Additionally, I have served as a staff psychologist at the Ann Martin Children's Center in Piedmont, CA, where I provided therapy to elementary-aged children and their families at a local elementary school. For 3 years, I was an Adjunct Professor at Argosy University where I taught assessment and other psychology courses to graduate psychology students. I have been licensed as a clinical psychologist in the state of California (PSY 19388) since 2003.
